Joining Akhepran, step by step

Choosing a school is one of the biggest decisions a family makes. This page sets out everything you need, from your first question to your child’s first day.

The process

Four steps to enrolment

New scholars join at every grade from 1 to 12. The steps are the same for everyone.

  1. Get to know us

Contact admissions, ask for the school brochure and read it in full. Visit if you can, and bring your questions.

    • Read and sign the Commitment Statement, Technology Contract, Tuition Contract and Student Handbook.
  2. Placement exam and interview

Return the placement exam registration form with the exam fee. We schedule the exam on request.

    • Every family then meets the Principal. The interview is required, and both the scholar and a parent attend.
  3. Apply and register

Once you have the exam results and decide to go ahead, submit the Student Application with the registration and enrolment fees.

    • Fees can be paid at the bank or by online transfer.
  4. Complete enrolment

Pay the first tuition instalment and return the remaining forms. Then prepare your child’s device, uniform and supplies, and join us for orientation.

Questions

Questions families ask

Can’t find your answer? Call (242) 324-8683.

Which grades can my child join?

We teach Grades 1 to 12 in three schools: Primary (Grades 1–6), Junior (Grades 7–9) and Senior (Grades 10–12). New scholars can join at any grade. The placement exam helps us confirm the right one.

How old must my child be to start Grade 1?

Children must be five years old by 30 September of the year they start, and toilet trained.

Is there an entrance exam?

Yes. Every new scholar takes a placement exam, scheduled on request. The scholar and a parent then meet the Principal for a required interview.

What does my child need for class?

An approved laptop or iPad with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher, headphones, a webcam and microphone, and a protective case. A flash drive, spare charger and, for iPads, a wireless keyboard are recommended.

What are the school hours?

Formal and informal learning runs from 8:00am to 5:00pm.

Is lunch provided?

Our lunch programme offers snacks and hot lunches, with vegetarian options.

How large are classes?

Classes have about 15 scholars on average.

Which examinations do scholars take?

Scholars prepare for the national GLAT (Primary), BJC (Junior) and BGCSE (Senior) examinations. Seniors also prepare for the ACT and SAT.

Are there sibling discounts?

The published fee schedule does not include sibling discounts. Admissions can explain the current schedule.
