Learning at Akhepran does not stop at the classroom door. Our scholars perform, compete, serve and lead, and every one of those experiences counts.

Arts & culture
Music, dance and drumming fill our assemblies and celebrations. Through them, scholars learn the cultures of The Bahamas and of Africa, and the confidence to perform.
The year is marked by occasions that bring the whole school together: our Thanksgiving Assembly, National Heroes Day, Bahamian Day, International Day of the Girl and the Akhepran Float Parade through Fox Hill.

Sport
Sport teaches teamwork, discipline and how to win and lose well. In 2025 our basketball teams won two BSAA championships.
Physical education and swimming are part of the curriculum.

Leadership & service
Our vision is to raise proactive global leaders. That starts with service close to home and grows into leadership on the world stage.

Scholars in Grades 7–12 give forty hours of service each year, from community clean-ups to fundraising walks for the school’s solar panels.
The ladies of AIA represent the academy at events such as the International Day of the Girl, and take part in ShakthiSAT, a global STEM mission for girls.

The school day
The practical details families ask about most.
Formal and informal learning runs from 8:00am to 5:00pm.
Our lunch programme serves snacks and hot lunches, with vegetarian options.
Every scholar brings an approved laptop or iPad and headphones each day.
We keep each scholar’s medical form, immunisation record and medicine authorisation on file. Accident insurance is included in the enrolment fee, and Fox Hill Clinic and Prince Charles Medical Centre are about five minutes away.
