In 2022, a Grade 7 scholar won the Junior Division of the National Young Chef Culinary Competition in New Providence. Akhepran entered scholars in both the Junior and Senior Divisions that year, competing on consecutive days.
A year later, a Grade 8 scholar and aspiring young chef won the Junior New Providence Young Chef Competition, bringing the title back to Akhepran for a second year.
Learning in the kitchen
Culinary arts is part of how we teach Passion: the skills each scholar discovers and develops. Junior scholars also study Culinary & Clothing as a subject, and the kitchen is where science, planning and creativity meet.
